I still have a GTO on my “need to own” list.

In fact, before I got my first G35 I almost bought a yellow 04 GTO in 2012. However, after some deep thought, I then came to my senses and realized that yellow just isn’t the greatest color on a car... or any car.* Especially if it meant draining my bank account too.

At the same time, some kid was already trying to secure financing on the car and the proceedings were on hold so he could secure cash for the down. Yikes.

Kinja'd!!!

*unless it is the Rhys Millen D1 GTO

a clean, unmolested 04-06 will be a collector IMO. Some call it bland but I think its got a timeless subtle style to it.

A couple of weeks ago I took my GTO out to a drift event. After I wore myself out I let my son take a few laps.

Like father, like son. Excellent!

I definitely want to participate in a drift event sometime.

They’ll definitely be hidden gems.

From my short driving impression, all I’d want to do is some suspension upgrades. The 04 5.7 already had plenty of power... just gotta take some of the GM-engineered boat out of her. (I know the 6 liter is even better.)

I owned an 04 and I would say to get an 05/6. The 6.0 makes a difference whether stock or modded.

similar situation here in 2011 i was looking at 350zs and an 06 gto. the only reason i got the z was because the gto guy stopped responding to texts and i had already sold my jeep so i needed a car to get to school/work. 5 years later i still wish i had a gto. they are just so subtly sexy.

1970's Mitsubishi Colt Galant GTO

I would have a 250 GTO on the list, but honestly right now they are to expensive to do anything with. Even if I had the money to buy one, Jesus Crist I am sure servicing and replacing parts on it would cost the same as buying another car.
